Jackson Found A Radical Life In So Cal, and THEN Moved To Telluride, Colorado!

(Trivia: Did you know that 'radical' means 'root'? Thus 'radish', and also the name of the sign over a number that refers to its 'square root'...
Huh? Ever seen a SQUARE carrot??? Oh, well...) {;>)
...In my mid thirties, I SPUN OUT, got into all kinds of NOT GOOD stuff, kind of like Pinocchio and Pleasure Island!
"TIME FOR A CHANGE, Jackson!" Looking for a cleaner way out of a scary life, I met a lady wanting to do the same... an older friend of hers visited one evening I was at her house and talked to us about Jesus! He was a cool guy, and intellectual (like I thought I was)...So when he offered, "Jackson, come to church with me - I guarantee you'll be surprised!"
... and promised to throw in an awesome, Strawberry Smothered Belgian Waffle breakfast afterward , I said, Hell, yeah!
THIS WASN'T A 'RELIGIOUS' DEAL! The whole attitude of this place was FREEDOM, PEACE, LOVE...
And then came the KICKER: Seemed like Chuck Smith, the preacher, was looking RIGHT AT ME when he basically said...
..."Jesus wants to hook up with you RIGHT NOW, no matter how deep a hole you're in, no matter how much mud (that's a nice word) you're covered in...You are THAT IMPORTANT to Him!"
I had one of those experiences, you know, where my peripheral vision closed down to a soccer-ball-sized circle...ALL I COULD SEE was WHAT I'D BEEN LOOKING FOR ALL ALONG...
God, Jesus, loved me, wanted me...Jackson!... NOT my awesome, good, biblical, religious, sober, nice, decent, wholesome, holy behavior. (I DIDN'T HAVE ANY!)...
I gave my heart to Jesus that day, and HAVEN'T LOOKED BACK SINCE!
We decided to get married, leave the decadent life styles we had each gotten in to, and move elsewhere...like Colorado.
Long story short, we ended up in Telluride, now a pretty famous, historical, Victorian-house-filled small town at 8750' in the San Juan Mountains.
We had 3 awesome kids, a boy and two girls. We went to Telluride Christian Fellowship, worked in remodel and interior design...
And when the '81 recession hit, moved 30 mi West to Norwood, CO where it seemed God opened up the PERFECT job for me teaching Art K-12 for the next 21 years.
Life is challenging...We can 'miss it', and that marriage ended.
But the kids became talented, intelligent adults, awesome grand kids appeared, and 10 years ago I re met and married a lady I had known 40 years ago!
- and we are BEST FRIENDS besides happily married! God is Good! No matter what!
CHOOSING TO BELIEVE in Jesus, that He represents the Loving Heart of God the Father... that The Father has NEVER WANTED ANYTHING FOR YOU BUT A BLESSED LIFE...
..is the KEY to REAL CHRISTIANITY!
From there, with PERSEVERANCE, and help from the Holy Spirit, I found teachers that taught me: "Jackson, YOU CAN HAVE WHAT YOU SAY!"
Things may be challenging, MAY LOOK BAD!...But IF YOU BELIEVE... CHOOSE to believe by FORCE OF WILL...
..in EVERY BLESSING SCRIPTURE, and SAY THAT instead of what you see, the BLESSINGS will come!
All you have to do is say out loud, by yourself:
"JESUS...I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE IN YOU, THAT YOU MAKE ME 'PRESENTABLE' TO THE FATHER, THAT YOU BOTH LOVE ME!...NOW MAKE YOURSELF REAL IN THIS MESSED UP LIFE OF MINE!
"I'M TOTALLY READY FOR YOU TO CHANGE MY LIFE TO ONE OF FREEDOM, PEACE, POWER, LOVE, AND SANITY!...DO IT JESUS! I RECEIVE IT RIGHT NOW, IN YOUR NAME, JESUS! PRAISE YOU GOD!"
That's the ticket, literally...AND THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
Check into a 'non - religious', non-denominational church. Get a bible like THE MESSAGE, or THE LIVING BIBLE, that is written in plain, easy to understand English!
Stick with it and you will be BLOWN INTO a NEW WAY OF LIFE FILLED WITH BLESSINGS...and challenges... BUT NOW, you have AN EQUALIZER, and will BECOME AN OVERCOMER!
In future 'posts', I'll be going into much deeper detail about THE BLESSING OF GOD, THE SCRIPTURES THAT BACK IT UP...
.. AND HOW TO FIND YOUR OWN, UNIQUE WAY TO PROSPER AND REIGN IN THIS LIFE WHICH IS THE WILL OF GOD!
